The founders – Dan Minko and James Paoletti – were formerly high school teachers who created Spectrum Sports after seeing a gap in fitness offerings for their students. What began as an after school program has grown and expanded over the last 6 years, now with over 150 athletes coming from all over South Jersey to enjoy the program. The program also sees a rotation of OT and PT students from local universities, such as Jefferson, Widener, Holy Family, Rowan, Stockton, etc., who get hands on experience and has key partnerships with group homes and day programs that leverage Spectrum’s offerings to get their clients out and active.
Currently the operates out of local gyms, churches and facilities across SJ. The new 5,000 s.q. feet location will be fully renovated and offer a centralized location for the special needs community to continue to enjoy the sports, fitness, games, and annual events that Spectrum Sports is now known for.

Upon opening, Spectrum will be offering new membership packages at varying levels based on the number of group fitness and sports & games classes members prefer. All levels of membership will include anytime access to the gym space. There are also plans in the works to expand their offerings to include things like, life skills, wellness classes, birthday parties, etc.

Many of Spectrum’s athletes today leverage DDD funds to enjoy classes (meaning no out of pockets for the individual/parents/caregivers. Spectrums new memberships will continue to be approved under goods and services.
